Brno

BRNO

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic. Its Trade Fair Grounds are the main centre for trade fairs and exhibitions in the country. A minimum of 10 to 15 large fairs take place in Brno every year. Please see our list of PRIME FAIRS OF 2005.

The city has a very rich, historically important cultural background, several universities, theatres, museums and other cultural and educational institutions. Visitors can admire unique sites of historical interest: the Baroque Špilberk fortress with its famous vaulted chambers built in the time of the Habsburg Monarchy, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, and the Capuchine Monastery, etc.

The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix is also held here each year (Aug 26 - Aug 29 2005) at the recently built racetrack - the Masaryk circle.

North of Brno, near the district town Blansko, lays the Moravian Karst with numerous caves and the Macocha Abyss.
