Terezín + Lidice

Combined trip to the town Terezín and village Lidice. Lidice is a village situated about 20 km from Prague. The name Lidice has become a symbol of the struggle against fascism for all people in the Czech Republic. Under the pretext that two local families had been associated with the parachutists who assassinated Heydrich, the village was burned down and razed to the ground by the German Gestapo on June 10,1942. All the men (192) were shot and all the women (196) and children (105) were dragged off to concentration camps. The whole area is now a national cultural memorial. There is a museum, memorial and Rose Garden of Friendship and Peace for visitors to see.
